Khawabgah of Shah Jahan was designed as the pavilion of marble arches. Tatar guards were employed for its security. There he retired to sleep among his Harem. Shah Jahan appeared at the marble windows to the VIPs, on rising in the morning, who gathered below to pay him their homage; grandees stood at distances according to their respective rank.
